Styling a romper 4 ways

You would normally think of a romper as a trendy style staple in the warmer months, but you can definitely extend its uses throughout September into February.

For this post I've used my olive green romper from Old Navy (a couple of seasons ago). This was such a great, versatile buy and I do tend to purge my closet often, so the fact that this piece has stuck around for over 2 years is a testament to its versatility. The color itself works well year-round, as well as the utility and military inspired style.

For the fall and winter seasons I've layered leggings (or you can use opaque tights) underneath paired with black ankle boots. You can also go with knee-high or combat boots depending on how casual you want to go. For me, I went with black to elongate my 5'0 ft. figure.

For added warmth during wintry weather you can layer a turtleneck underneath and long cardigan to elevate the outfit. Again, I went with black to keep the look cohesive.

Springtime in New York tends to be complicated. Temps can be pretty warm during the day but still with a bit of a chill in the air. I opted for my H&M bomber jacket to layer on top - lightweight but still keeps me warm. And of course, green and pink pair perfectly with each other so I had to include my bright pink H&M mules. The suede feel and pointy toes add an elevated and fun casual element.

Woohoo we've made it to summer! Even though the days will be obviously hot, I always get freezing cold whenever I'm in a mall or restaurant when the AC is turned up, not to mention it may be a bit breezy in the evening. With the last two outfits (I've included a bonus festival inspired outfit #winning) I added a long sleeved button down top tied to emphasize my waist and a kimono style dark floral layer. You could also pair these outfits with sandals but sneakers are so on trend these days. I've basically worn my Adidas Superstars to the ground and my Doc Martens are great for stomping around in a muddy field at a festival.
